A major expansion of facilities and services at Brightside on Victoria will ensure even more people can benefit from the organisation’s friendly and fun-filled approach to care and respite.
Federal Member for Groom John McVeigh joined the team at Brightside on Victoria today to announce funding from Round 4 of the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities program which will go towards the expansion project.
“With additional facilities the team at Brightside on Victoria will soon be able to offer additional services five days a week to NDIS clients,” he said.
“Participants will be able to join a range of fun program where they can develop skills such as cooking, photography or computers.”
Dr McVeigh said expanded services for NDIS clients would be a welcome addition to the community.
“There is high demand for services within the disability sector so this significant expansion is expected to help meet some of those needs in the community,” he said.
“The project will convert an existing space into a specialist Disability Day Centre, which will adjoin the Aged Care Day Respite and Social Groups Centre already operating at the site.”
Dr McVeigh said the Stronger Communities program provided much-needed support for local community organisations across the country.
“I am very proud to be able to support local organisations in the Groom electorate like Brightside on Victoria. The people that make up these important organisations work tirelessly for the benefit of the wider community and I am truly grateful for what they do.”
