Staff and kids at Cambooya’s C&K Community Kindergarten will benefit from new and improved facilities at the Centre with the help of a grant from Round 4 of the Coalition Government’s Stronger Communities program.
Federal Member for Groom John McVeigh joined the team at C&K Cambooya Community Kindergarten today to announce the funding and inspect some of the work to be undertaken.
“C&K Cambooya Community Kindergarten does a great job caring for children and helping to prepare kids for entry into the school system,” he said.
“The grant will help improve some of the internal facilities, including bathrooms and floor coverings that were not of a high enough standard for a modern kindergarten.”
Dr McVeigh said the kindergarten was an important part of the local community, operating for up to 40 weeks a year.
“Cambooya is lucky to have a team of passionate educators at C&K Community Kindergarten that are so focused on helping kids develop essential skills in preparation for school and to support them throughout their lives,” he said.
Dr McVeigh said the Stronger Communities program provided much-needed support for local community organisations across the country.
“I am very proud to be able to support local organisations in the Groom electorate like C&K Cambooya Community Kindergarten. The people that make up these important organisations work tirelessly for the benefit of the wider community and I am truly grateful for what they do.”
